Hello Texas Teachers or Those located nationwide. We (Carlos Sands and Richard Baston) are very concerned citizens regarding our educator’s financial well-being.

Richard and I have assisted educators and made life better for them for the past decade. For most of that time we joined forces almost two years ago. We are blessed to be able to help improve teachers’ financial lives in the near and distant future.

Teaching

After interviewing many teachers and conducting our research, we know the issues with the drastic underfunding of the TRS Pension System and Healthcare Benefits, especially in Texas. It has been pointed- out that Texas Teachers earn about $6,000 yearly less than the National Average for ALL Teachers. Texas teachers, for example, rank 27th in the nation for annual salaries. Texas is Dead Last in the US in funding TRS! Healthcare costs continue to increase for teachers while their wages remain stagnant. This quote by Monty Exter, a lobbyist at the Association of Texas Professional Educators, hits home. Monty says: “When your salary is barely going up year after year, healthcare costs are increasing considerably. And you’re not getting any additional money put towards those healthcare costs by your employer (which is the state in this case), then effectively you are taking a year-over-year cut to your salary!” Then, to top it all off, we have met many teachers who pay for school supplies out of their pockets!

 Of course, there is a list of many other concerns in addition to these. Things are tough all over for teachers still working, but things are becoming even more challenging for those already retired. Teachers are not alone in the fears and challenges of having enough income in Retirement. Our biggest concern, which we also happen to have The BEST Solution too, is the  OVERWHELMING Blind Trust In ALL of the Proven To FAIL Qualified Retirement Plans offered by employers all across our country. Here’s the clincher that touched our hearts the most and made us realize that we must go on a Mission to lift teachers Financially.

We recently helped a young teacher in her early 30s that shared this concern “It worries me to see the number of teachers that have retired at the beginning of Summer, and then see them return at the end of Summer asking to come back to work!”

For so many teachers, it only takes a couple of months in Retirement to realize that living on the combination of TRS Benefits and the 403b Annuity Payments is just not enough to continue to make ends meet.

We would like you all to know that you no longer have to accept Financial Decline, and a Lower Standard Of Living, as a Fact Of Life in Retirement.
